Beijing Photo Gallery - Guomao

Guomao is located in the eastern part of the city at the 3rd ring road, and is the city's first highrise financial district. Now, more skyscrapers are being built from here eastwards towards the 4th ring road.

China Central Television's new headquarters took 8 years to build and was completed in 2012. 2 towers rise from a common base and lean towards each other in a perpendicular way using a web of diagonal patterns. These patterns intensify at areas where there is greater structural stress.

Beijing's grand streets are impossible and dangerous to cross.

Construction continues eastwards.

China World Trade Center's Phase 3 consists of Beijing's tallest building. At 330m, 5-star hotel occupies the top part of the skyscraper.

On a clear day, the view northwards is infinite. Notice the large ring road crossing from bottom right to top center between the skyscrapers.

Looking east, developments continue past the 4th and 5th ring roads.

China Central Television's new headquarters stand proud across the street. What an architectural and engineering achievement.

South

Downstairs, the cafe faces the west side. Notice the orange roofs of the Forbidden City are now barely visible amongst the taller buildings.
