Beijing Photo Gallery - Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution

On my last visit in 2007, the Military Museum was a step back in time, with many old relics packed together under one roof and one shed. Closed for many years and only recently re-opened after a long renovation, admission is free but you need to show your passport in order to get a ticket.
The bright indoor hall consists of many airplanes, missiles, and even boats. My only complaint is the few English signage to describe the actual exhibits.

The upper floors were not open during my visit, so I headed down to the basement to find a rich collection of artifacts and land-based military equipment.

This U-2 high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft was used by the Americans starting in the mid-1950s.
