Ho Chi Minh City Photo Gallery

Ho Chi Minh City has undergone tremendous change in the past few years as Vietnam's economy took off.

Many colonial buildings showcase the French history of Vietnam. This is the Opera House, which was completed in 1898.

City Hall was previously a hotel completed in 1908. The public space outside is currently cordoned off as construction for the metro continues.

The Notre Dame Cathedral was completed in 1883 with bricks and stained glass from Europe.

Plenty of young people were having a good time in the park next door. Watch your step - there is garbage everywhere.

The streets are lively with lots of cars, lots of people, and lots of vendors. District 1 has been beautified with new buildings and malls. However, can the ordinary Vietnamese afford to shop here?

By day, you can see the new skyscrapers that mark a new modern beginning for the country.

With a lotus design which honours Vietnam's national flower, Bitexco Financial Tower is now the city's tallest building. While 262m is not too tall these days, you already get an unobstructed view of the city.
