Toledo Photo Gallery - Part 3

A bit disappointed I couldn't get that skyline shot, I headed back uphill to explore more side streets.

During the medieval period, Christian, Muslim, and Jewish peoples are believed to have lived here in peaceful co-existence. The narrow streets were designed to let a donkey pass and protect from the elements. The cultural tolerance continued even after the Christians took back control from the Muslims in the 11th century.

The Puerta del Sol dates from the 14th century and is somewhat overshadowed by the road next to it today.

San Ildefonso is a Jesuit church that was consecrated in the early 18th century after some 150 years of construction. I went up the tower for the skyline view I wanted.
