Cathedral of Learning
The Cathedral of Learning, which is still the tallest educational building in the U.S., is a 42-story gothic cathedral. Inspired by the vision of Chancellor Bowman, the cathedral was partially funded by 97,000 area school children, each of whom contributed a dime to buy a brick for the cathedral.

Nationality Classrooms
Between 1938 and 1999, 26 classrooms, each representing a different cultural heritage, have been constructed within the Cathedral of Learning. From China to Italy, from India to England, each classroom represents the beauty and heritage of a particular country—and the intercultural ties that the descendents of those cultures, now living in America, continue to cherish.
