The Soviet-style Palace of Culture is no longer the lonely eye-catching icon of the city. Numerous new glassy buildings have popped up around it since then.

Unlike other city centres, Warsaw's skyscrapers are scattered, and don't form a particular group. Between them are empty plots, parking lots, and much lower residentials. This is not the traditional commercial centre downtown.
