Stretching 62km long and 15km wide, Sao Miguel is the largest island in the Azores. The northern part of the island has fewer attractions, but with a car, it's only a short drive from Ponta Delgada to explore.
Another 10 minutes' drive away from Miradouro da Ponta do Escalvado is the Miradouro da Ilha Sabrina, where we parked and walked down the steep hill to the Piscina Natural da Ponta da Ferraria, a natural bathing pool where the thermal spring mixes with salt water from the sea, creating a warm and comfortable environment for a soak. Depending on the tide level, the water temperature will fluctuate throughout the day.

While I had not encountered crowds at the previous beach and viewpoint, the same cannot be said here. It seems everyone else had found out about this pool and want a free soak.
