Wat Traimit was bursting with tour groups even though I arrived fairly early in the morning already. The golden top that adornes this temple was already shining a few blocks away as I approached from Hualamphong metro station. Inside is the world's largest solid-gold Buddha.
The Golden Buddha was cast in the 13th century and covered by stucco to prevent looting until the gold finish was accidentally rediscovered in 1955.
Bangkok's Chinatown offers a sensory overload of various types of markets. Choked with traffic and pedestrians, I came across a number of Western tourists wandering about with their guides. Being Chinese, I had no issues with understanding what was being offered on sale, but even some of the items looked fairly unique and not seen before back home.
