Further down the street from Dubai Museum, the Al Fahidi Historical District also has some restored historic buildings but with modern amenities such as cafes, art galleries, and museums, and rooftops that can be visited. Formerly called Bastakiya, there are plenty of small alleys and courtyards to explore. The Diwan is the Dubai ruler's office.
