Dublin Photo Gallery - Terminal 2
In 2023, 31.9 million passengers passed through Dublin's airport. That figure reached almost 26 million year-to-date September 2024, and the airport is quickly approaching its 32 million terminal cap.Plans are under way to expand the airport and lift the passenger cap imposed by the aviation authority to 40 million a year. The 600 million euro Terminal 2 opened in 2010 and since then, passenger numbers increased by almost 79% by 2019. At the time, about 40% of Terminal 1's passenger flow was initially moved to the new facility. Terminal 2 is primarily used by Aer Lingus and its Oneworld partners such as American Airlines and British Airways, as well as Emirates and United.
Duty-free shops offer the typical tourist fare, such as chocolates, whiskey, and Guinness.
Plane spotting at Terminal 2 is dominated by Aer Lingus, but they have a couple of special livery birds during my visit.
A number of gates have historic photos of the airport hung on the walls to enhance the otherwise typical seating areas.
