Frankfurt Photo Gallery - A Walk Along the Main River

Frankfurt lies on the Main River, which runs over 500km and empties into the Rhine west of the city.

The riverfront has plenty of promenades and public spaces to enjoy, which offer good skyline views along the way as well. I start at Hafenpark in the eastern part of the city and head west towards the historic centre.

The Eiserner Steg is probably the busiest pedestrian crossing over the Main, connecting the old town to Sachsenhausen. Originally built in 1869, it was destroyed during World War II and rebuilt afterwards.
