Frankfurt Photo Gallery - Airport

The international airport is only a short 12-minute train ride from the city centre. It's a massive facility with 2 terminals that handled over 61.5 million passengers in 2024. Construction of the current airport began in 1934 at what is now Terminal 3's construction site. It opened in 1936. Termnal 2 opened in 1994 and was renovated during the pandemic. I headed up to the Visitor's Terrace, which has an outdoor observation deck to observe the planes and smell the jet fuel. However, since my visit in mid-2025, the terrace has closed for renovations.
