Guangxi is located in China's southwest. Known for its natural beauty, tourists have traditionally flocked to Guilin for its mountains, rice terraces, and river scenes. However, the area near the Vietnamese border is also beautiful, and far less touristed. Nanning would be the nearest large city to fly into.This part of Guangxi is sparsely populated, and with good reason. There are a lot of mountains and transport is reliant on narrow but well-paved roads.
You can also get a cruise on the Heishui River near the city of Chongzuo.
