Introduction
The Bank of China Tower was constructed over a period of 4 years and 4 months beginning in April 1985. Completed in 1989, the 315 m building opened in May 1990. Architect I.M. Pei designed the building with the inspiration of the stature of bamboo, its sectioned trunk reaching higher with each new growth. The tower has a skylobby that is open to the public.
