Central Yards is a new development on reclaimed land that extended the waterfront as part of the new airport project in the 1990s. While this huge swathe of new land has been earmarked for mostly parkland and not office towers over the years, development has been slow despite a prime spot right in front of the iconic IFC. That original intention still holds. The 400m-long building now under construction won't be that tall and will host a massive rooftop garden under the concept of a bridge that unifies the neighbourhood with the harbour. The name Central Yards was unveiled by developer Henderson Land in November 2025. The HKD $63 billion project is expected to open in 2 phases - the first in 2027 and the second by 2032. They have signed Jane Street as a major office tenant spanning 6 floors or about 70% of the available office space in phase 1 despite a prolonged commercial property slump.
