Electric Bus & Rickshaw Bus

Hong Kong's first electric double decker bus started operating in June 2022 on route 5B. Citybus had pledged to operate a full fleet of 0-emission buses by 2045. However, as the summer heat raged to new heights, the bus mysteriously disappeared from the streets. In September 2022, the bus started running long distance routes between Tuen Mun and the Island. I caught the bus running on route 20 on July 22, 2023. Rickshaw Bus is the cheaper of the open-top sightseeing bus services available in the city. Offering a day-time and night-time route across key tourist sites on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, its name celebrates the main means of transport in the late 19th century.
