Once home to the Potuguese community, Ho Man Tin is fast becoming an upper class residential neighbourhood, although it still retains a large public housing estate. Accessibility has improved with the Kwun Tong Line extended through the area, although its hilltop location still keeps the crowds away.
Oi Man Estate's 12 towers opened in 1974.
Elevators whisk visitors easily to a park further uphill. On one side are the public housing towers, and on the other is a luxury estate.
More luxury residences wrap around the hill on the other side.
A service road leads up from near the Sheung Lok and Sheung Wo Street intersection to the Ho Man Tin High Level Service Reservoir Playground, which has a commanding of Kowloon. On the other side of the hill is the poorer Ma Tau Kok neighbourhood and a different world altogether.
You can descend on the other side of the reservoir park to Lok Man Sun Chuen.
