Farewell Volvo Super Olympian (The Days Before Retirement)

The last KMB Volvo Super Olympian retired on March 8, 2023. In the last few days before retirement, LV 8402 ran on route 2D between Shek Kip Mei and Wong Tai Sin. Along the route, there were many narrow roads where photographers could capture the bus against a backdrop of older buildings and public housing estates. The bus terminus at Pak Tin and Wong Tai Sin also had ample room for bus enthusiasts to move around and get their perfect shots.
This bus was the last for the operator with a periscope, where the driver peers through a hole above the seat to observe the upper deck's activity through a mirror mounted on the top right side. Newer buses are now equipped with CCTV.
