With a major public housing backlog and wait times of almost 6 years, the government is stepping up redevelopment and construction efforts. Across from Richland Gardens and next to the much older Kai Yip Estate in Kowloon Bay, a new public housing estate is under construction with expected completion in 2025-6. The project on Wang Chiu Road has 2 phases, with the first one having 2600 units while Phase 2 will provide 1500 more in towers that won't exceed 120m high. March 2024
