Kwun Tong is one of the oldest districts in Kowloon. Covering 1130 hectares, it is home to over 630,000 people. While the town centre is a congested, busy, and noisy urban jungle, the side streets nearby were serene residential neighbourhoods, some with harbour views even.
Yuet Wah Street forms a loop on a hillside above Kwun Tong's financial and industrial quarter with more upscale but still old buildings set in a more serene environment. The buildings lining this street were mostly built from the 1960s and are privately-owned for the wealthier classes.
