Hong Kong Photo Gallery - Mirador Mansion

While Chungking Mansion and Champagne Court are famous old buildings in Tsim Sha Tsui known for its dilapidated state, nearby Mirador Mansion on Nathan Road also comes from the same era. Completed in the late 1950s, it had a mix of residentials and light industry factories, although today there are a lot more cheap hostels as the economy has transitioned away from manufacturing.

As of late 2021, there were about 140 licensed hostels here with about 800 rooms. These are small-scale operators so it is not surprising if there are several different hostels on the same floor.

The bottom floors are still a shopping mall. The shops once catered to foreign tourists and visiting sailors, with many tailors that offered quick turnarounds for custom-made suits.

With a maze of dark hallways and complex layouts, it is quite intimidating to explore the interiors.
