The 5-storey Southside shopping mall "soft opened" in December 2023. Serving the multiple phases of residential developments with some 5200 units, the 510,000 sq ft shopping mall is directly connected to the MTR station with 235 parking spaces. The Southside is a major rejuvenation project in the formerly industrial Wong Chuk Hang area. Since the South Island Line opened, it is only a short ride to Admiralty station in the main business district.
