Kenting Photo Gallery - Maobitou

Accessing the western part of Kenting can be a bit challenging with infrequent buses even though it is not far from town. Route 102 connects the area from Hengchun and Kenting main town at roughly hourly frequencies.

Just a short bus ride from Houbihu, Maobitou is located at the coastal edge 4km away where you can see eroded coral formations due to ocean wave activity. The name means cat's nose as the terrain resembles a crouching cat looking at the sea.

Do track the bus departure times carefully as they generally depart every hour during the day. I didn't encounter any crowds at all coming in and leaving with only a few people on board.

From the bus stop, it's a fairly short walk with staircase climb up to 2 observation areas to take it all in. Kenting's main town is on the other side of the bay.

My afternoon started in Kenting, taking the 102 bus to Houbihu, then Maobitou, and finally back to Hengchun for the intercity bus back to Kaohsiung.
