The London Ambulance Service's headquarters near Waterloo station have 2 vintage vehicles parked out front and on display regularly. This is a 1949 Daimler DC27, which served during the early years of the NHS after it was founded in 1948. This is the first of 120 vehicles purchased, which served to the late 1950s.
This Morris LD ambulance replaced the DC27 model and came into service in 1965. They were shorter and lighter, so navigated the city's streets better.
