Whale on the Wharf (May 2025)

Scientists estimate there are over 150 million tons of plastic waste in our oceans. To highlight the massive pollution problem in our oceans, Whale on the Wharf was made using 5 tonnes of plastic litter found on Hawaii's beaches. It sits on a concrete base made of spent coffee grounds from area restaurants.

Designed by StudioKCA in collaboration with the Hawaii Wildlife Fund, the 11m sculpture will be a permanent addition to Canary Wharf as part of the district's public art collection.
