Whitechapel GalleryAfter a culinary adventure along Brick Lane, stop by Whitechapel Gallery for some art therpy. The institution was founded in 1901 by philanthropists and social reformers to bring art to the East End. Today, it occupies a historic library building and offers both paid and free exhibitions. Candice Lin presents a lush fantasy world with animals and other creatures on painted cardboard panels. She developed the work during Donald Trump's second inauguration, California wildfires, and Gaza conflict, inspiring her to re-create the sense of disorientation shown in this installation.
Downstairs, Joy Gregory has set up a tent with women being celebrated as the central figures in folklore, myth, and legend.
