Rome Photo Gallery - Grand Monuments

The Vittorio Emanuele Monument was built in the late 19th century for the first king of a unified Italy. Inspired by the classical era's sanctuary, construction started in 1885 and it was inaugurated in 1911 during the International Exposition.

The grand structure has an outdoor observation deck at the top. I consider it a must-see since it gives a good aerial view of the Forum and the most historic part of the city.
