Churches of Rome Photo Gallery Part 2

Rome has no shortage of amazing churches and after going through this set, I don't think I will ever be as amazed with churches elsewhere on the continent, albeit with a few rare exceptions only.

Chiesa di San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane is named after the 4 fountains next to it. The Baroque church was designed by Borromini and built in the 1630-40s, wedged into a very small and weirdly-shaped site.

The Church of San Bernardo alle Terme has a distinct cylindrical shape that looks like a smaller version of the Pantheon. Once part of the Baths of Diocletian, an idea came to convert it into a church in the late 16th century.

The Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli sits on the highest point on Capitoline Hill. It is famous for its Christ Child statue that is believed to have healing powers but was stolen in 1994.

Basilica Parrocchiale Santa Maria del Popolo is famous for its Renaissance painting and sculptures.
