Rotterdam Photo Gallery - Erasmusbrug

Designed by Ben van Berkel and completed in 1996, the 802m bridge across the Maas is the city's symbol. It features vehicle, pedestrian, and tram lanes and offers good views along the way. The suspension bridge is held by 40 cables mounted on a 139m steel pylon that looks like a swan. After exploring Kop van Zuid, I walked across comfortably to admire the river scenery and continue my walking tour at Leuvehaven.
