Rotterdam Photo Gallery - Oudehaven

Emerging on the other side of the Cube House, I descended to Oudehaven, meaning "old harbour". The first jetty was built here in the mid-14th century and in 1940, the German Luftwaffe dropped over 1000 bombs on Rotterdam, destroying much of the medieval centre. Today, we can only find a few buildings that have survived the war, such as the White House, the tallest skyscraper in Europe when it was built in 1897. This section of waterfront is still vibrant today with a mix of cafes and plenty of parked boats.
