Opened in late 2013, the 7 billion yuan new Terminal 3 stretches 1.5km long and uses a honeycomb design that allows natural light through for a geometric effect. The building is part of a 22 billion yuan expansion plan, which included a 2nd runway that opened in 2011 and hotel facilities on-site. Terminal 3 will increase the airport's capacity to 45 million passengers a year by 2020.
