The new Shenzhen Museum of Art opened in November 2023 north of the city centre in Longhua district. Just a short walk from Hongshan metro station, 1 stop away from Shenzhen North high-speed train station, the museum building is the work of KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten with an exhibition area of 20,000 square metres across its 18 halls.Pre-booking is required on their Wechat page, which makes it more difficult for foreign tourists to visit, although entry is free. Once registered, you will get a QR code to scan at the door for entry. Starting on the ground floor, there is an exhibition on the Greater Bay Area, the new name of the Pearl River Delta that includes Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.
