Shenzhen hosted over 10,000 athletes at the 26th Summer Universiade in 2011. The Shenzhen Bay Sports Center has a capacity of 13,000 patrons with an open-air track as well as gymnasiums.

Getting here is not easy by subway. There is a lot of construction happening in the area.. In 30C+ weather, you either walk a long detour from Houhai station, which should take about 20 minutes, or cut across a construction site to shave a few minutes off.
