Taichung City Hall is located in Xitun District. This is also the new commercial heart of the city with a number of department stores and cultural facilities.
The National Taichung Theater opened in 2016 and houses 3 performance venues that can seat up to 3000 people. The structure comprises 58 curve-wall units to create a cave-like effect and circular openings to let natural light in.
This part of Xitun District is quite new with wide sidewalks, greenery, shopping malls, and modern new skyscrapers. It is on the main Taiwan Boulevard into the city and is easily accessible by bus.
