Taichung Photo Gallery - Wanggaoliao

Taichung is located on a relatively flat plain with the central mountains in the distance that you won't likely encounter as part of your city tour, so I was surprised there are some photos on the web from a high vantage point that offers a skyline view.

Wanggaoliao is actually just a short drive from Rainbow Village. You can take bus 323 from the Rainbow Village terminus for a 15 minute ride uphill, but departures are not frequent so research your visit carefully to come back downhill efficiently.

Coming up from Rainbow Village, cross the street at the bus stop to see the viewing platform that looks westwards towards the sea.

For the best skyline view, cross back the street and head downhill to backtrack the route the bus took. After about a 5 minute walk, you will see a parking lot and washrooms. Behind it is a huge park and this is where you will enjoy the city views without the crowds.
