The furthest north on today's drive is Sanxiantai, the ultimate prize and most stunning attraction of the day. The 8-arch bridge crosses the water to an outlying island where stunning geological formations, biodiversity, and ocean views await.
The repeated stairs up and down make this crossing quite tiring, but there is plenty of scenery on both sides to keep you and your camera busy.
The path on the island itself is mostly flat and paved for the first section through the low bushes.
After the paved section ends, you will need to navigate through the rocks to continue looping around the island.
By now I was quite exhausted to scale the peak.
Then you return the same way you came back across the bridge.
