Kuala Lumpur Public Transport Photo Gallery

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad is the government entity that runs the city's public transport services under the rapidKL umbrella. These include the monorail, light rail, and heavy rail lines. However, with cheap Grab rides readily available, it's oftentimes not that more expensive to call a private ride instead of finding your way around the transport network.

The lines used to be disjointed with separate ticketing systems. Integration and transfer improvements have made things easier. Average daily ridership on the rail lines is near a million passengers.

There are open-top tour buses operating around the city, although the covered part is at the back of the top deck, which is a bit different from other cities.

Minibuses started operating in 1975 and were standardized into a single set of livery in 1990, and finally discontinued in 1998.
