Kuala Lumpur Photo Gallery

A relatively young city founded in the mid-19th century, KL is a fairly under-rated city, somewhat overshadowed by Bangkok's sleaze and Singapore's modernity. However, this city offers some of the cheapest 5-star hotel rates in the region although overall there are less attractions to explore.

KL was founded by the Chinese in 1857 looking for tin deposits. British architects were brought in from India to build the grand capital in the late 19th century.

Malaysia has been building plenty of icons here to demonstrate their economic progress. They were ambitious to build the world's tallest buildings, the Petronas Towers, new railways, and large shopping malls.
