Belfast Photo Gallery

Belfast is only an hour flight from London, making it a good short getaway destination. I combined it with Dublin and made a long weekend out of it, and covered quite a lot of ground thanks to the rare brilliant sunshine that even surprised locals.

This city was once a great linen production and shipbuilding centre. Titanic was built here, and there is a huge museum dedicated to it today. Gripped with violence between the Catholics and Protestants from the late 1960s into the 90s, things have gotten a lot more peaceful after the Good Friday Agreement. Now it's an off-the-beaten-track tourist destination without the annoying crowds but with enough to enjoy for a few days.
